Cans for Care—Turning Every 5¢ into Care

Every eligible Massachusetts 5¢ redeemable container you donate helps the Friends of the Dedham Council on Aging support programs and services that brighten the lives of Dedham seniors.

One container may be worth only a nickel—but together, thousands of containers become thousands of opportunities to make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our October 17 first-anniversary collection a success! We're completing the sorting and redemption of the donated containers and look forward to sharing our updated totals.

Next up: Dedham Day — Saturday, November 7, 12–4 PM, Barnes Memorial Field.

We'll be collecting eligible 5¢ redeemable beverage containers consumed during Dedham Day in our specially marked collection boxes. Please enjoy the festivities and deposit your empty containers as you go!

How You Can Help

Donate Containers

Bring your Massachusetts redeemable cans, plastic bottles, and glass bottles to one of our community collection events, or contact us to arrange a bulk pickup. Plain water and juice bottles are not redeemable in Massachusetts.

Organize a Collection

Invite your family, neighborhood, workplace, church, club, or organization to collect containers together and multiply your impact.

Make a Donation

Can't save containers? Financial donations—and even rolls of nickels—are always welcome and help support the same mission.
