Cans for Care — Turning Empties into Impact
Every Massachusetts 5¢ can and bottle you donate helps the Friends of the Dedham Council on Aging fund programs and brighten the days of our town’s seniors. Small change — big difference.
We already have collected and redeemed over 29000 containers, valued at over $1,450, since our kickoff weekend began on October 18, 2025! Thank you Dedhamites everywhere for your overwhelming support for this fundraising campaign targeted at senior’s food insecurity and technology-free communications! Your community-spirited response has been gratifying and humbling!
Join us for our Extended Round 2 Collection Cycle by bringing your cans and bottles (plastic and glass) to our 5¢ Redeemable Containers Drop-off tent at the Dedham Town Hall parking lot, at the corner of Washington Street and Bryant Street, on Saturday, June 13th from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Together, we’re building a brighter Dedham for our seniors — one nickel at a time.
Click the button below for the latest information about how to participate and help us reach our next goal of 40,000 total containers! Click the Can’t Participate button if you are unable to contribute containers, but want to provide a supporting donation! We also accept rolls of nickels — like one Can-donor on April 11th exclaimed, “Better than cans!” We thank you!
