Overflowing with Redeemable Containers?

Use the form to request a convenient bulk pickup at your Dedham residence. Once submitted, a member of our Can-doer Team will follow up to coordinate a mutually convenient time.

Thank you for including us in your effort to brighten the day for local seniors while helping protect our environment.

This residential bulk pickup service is intended for large quantities of MA 5¢ deposit containers, such as multiple full plastic garbage or contractor bags of cans and plastic bottles, and cardboard boxes for glass bottles. Containers do not need to be sorted, and while rinsed items are appreciated, clean containers are not required.

Since launching Cans for Care in October 2025, Friends of the Dedham Council on Aging has collected more than 36,000 MA 5¢ redeemable containers (as of June 13, 2026). Collections continue throughout the year as part of our ongoing commitment to support Dedham seniors in partnership with the Dedham Council on Aging.

The next community-wide collection event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dedham American Legion (with the tank), 155 Eastern Avenue, Dedham. This event marks the one-year anniversary of our Cans for Care program, which has helped benefit Dedham seniors through the redemption of bottles and cans. Join us as we work toward an exciting milestone of 50,000 redeemed containers in our first year!

Large quantities help us make the greatest impact — thank you for reaching out.

This volunteer pickup service is currently available for Dedham residents. If you are nearby and unsure whether you qualify, you are welcome to submit the form and we will follow up.
